Familia Traversa

Familia Traversa

Montevideo , Uruguay

Over the last 60 years, and 3 generations, Familia Traversa has established a reputation for producing high quality wines that positively reflect their environment. Founded by Carlos Domingo Traversa and his wife Maria Josefa Salort in 1937, the vineyards have gone from strength to strength.

The Traversa Family vineyards are located in the South of Uruguay, spreading over 300 hectares in the Cuchilla Pereira region of Montevideo and in the Paso Cuello region of Canelones, in the South of Uruguay. Additionally, the Family purchases grapes from over 100 small-scale producers under the strict monitoring and quality control conducted by their technical team.

The grapes are machine-processed in cutting-edge facilities, and wines are made using the most advanced oenology technologies. With a storage capacity of 11 million litres, our winery has the highest output in Uruguay, using cutting-edge technology and having great stainless-steel storage capacity for controlled-temperature fermentation.
